Directed by New Zealand comic filmmaker Taika Waititi (What We Do In The Shadows, Hunt for the Wilderpeople), Framestore reunited with Marvel Studios to deliver the climactic final act of Thor: Ragnarok, producing 459 shots of heavy-duty VFX and a host of fully-CG characters.

As a member of the visual effects team for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” my primary focus was on the lighting of the film’s opening scene.

This opening scene features a memorable close-up shot of Baby Groot dancing to Electric Light Orchestra’s “Mr. Blue Sky” amidst a chaotic battle scene. As the camera zooms out, the audience is treated to a visual feast of exploding ships and creatures.

Framestore played a crucial role in bringing the mystical world of “Doctor Strange” to life on the big screen. The film, directed by Scott Derrickson, introduced the world to the Sorcerer Supreme and his fight against dark forces.

Framestore completed a small sequence on the 2015 remake of this classic horror film. I was involved in the lookdev and lighting of a corridor of writhing demons.

My first Marvel project at Framestore was on Guardians of the Galaxy.

Specifically, I was tasked with the lookdev of the Mining pods and the Necro Craft, which involved careful combination of matching of pre-built props with art work.

The RoboCop reboot directed by José Padilha was the second project I worked on at Framestore.

My work on the film began with the look development of the ED-209s and the creation of the all-new EM-208s.

As a newly employed lighting artist at Framestore, I couldn’t believe my luck when I was assigned to work on the epic film “Gravity”.
